Bye Bye Blogger

Okay I've done it!

I'm moving over to wordpress!!!
I can't stand losing any more posts or uploaded pics!
And trying to figure out how to add things to my template is doing my head in!

With encouragement from Janine and Karen I have defected and it was really easy to do.
And I got to take all of my posts with me so that was a bonus.

This blog will still be here but will no longer be updated.
If anybody reads this and wants to check out my new home, you can find me at...

Do you live in Auckland?

If you do and have kids then you might be interested in this?

Thursday 22 February, 10am - 2pm
Active Movement Day at the Zoo (Koringa Hihiko)
Get moving and grooving at the Zoo on Active Movement Day! Can you balance on one leg like flamingo or hop like a kangaroo? Compare your efforts to those of the animals as you explore the Zoo and get active!

Research shows that the experiences children have in early childhood play a large part in the lifestyle they adopt and the choices they make later in life. Active Movement Day at the Zoo will get kids, young and old, up and moving!

At the Band Rotunda, there will be crazy dancing competitions, animal aerobics, 5+ A Day characters, a bouncy castle, obstacle course, free face painting, and lots of spot prizes and giveaways!

As you explore the Zoo, you will meet Gymsport New Zealand coaches, who are specialists in working with pre-schoolers. They will get you stretching like a giraffe, pronking like a springbok, and swinging like a primate at some of the many fun fact stations around the Zoo!

There is no need to pre-purchase your ticket for this event. Normal Zoo admission prices apply - there is no charge for Friends of the Zoo.

Active Movement Day at the Zoo is supported by SPARC, Active Movement, Sport Waitakere, Counties Manukau Sport, Sport Auckland, Harbour Sport and GymSports New Zealand

Want A Laugh?

These images were sent to me in an e-mail today, I thought they were very cute.

Today has been a lovely relaxing day at home with all of my offspring happily doing their own things which has meant that I have been able to immerse myself in a couple of projects in my scraproom......bliss!

And even better, i'm off out tonight to have dinner with my scrapping buddies then crop for a while.....not that I actually get much done...lol!

So today has been a very good day!

Guest Designer Projects

This month I was fortunate to be the January guest designer for Scrapbook Essentials

I got to play with an amazing kit sent to me by Meg.
Crate Paper, Urban Lily, Basic Grey, Plain janes chipboard, a paint daubber and so much more.....this was pure heaven to me and I enjoyed every minute of it.
So thank you Meg for the opportunity to have a play with some great products and challenge myself just a little bit more than I normally would have.

Now I sort-of know how all those ladies out there on design teams feel, except I only get to do it once while they have 12 months of anticipation and excitement as each new kit arrives!

Oh well..... one day maybe, you never know what life has in store for you.

And the winner is...

After a very hectic weekend Miss Cait has just drawn the winner of the cricut word draw (with her eyes closed so she couldn't see which name she was drawing)and the few ladies who left a comment had a 1 in 6 chance.

But the winner is...

Lyn

Congrats Lyn and thanks for participating, I see your word is ENJOY.
All you need to do is leave a comment letting me know what font, size and colour you would like your word to be
and an address to send it to ( leave an e-mail address if that's easier and I'll contact you).

Thank you to those ladies that participated in this bit of fun.

First Card for 2007

On a very miserable rainy day in Auckland, it's a great time to hibernate in my scrap room.
So I decided to make a card for the first challenge from the ladies over at the Daring Card Makers.
This challenge was set by the lovely Lynda and you had to incorporate "Bling" on your card.... beads, glitter or anything shiny that a magpie would go for.

Sorry the bad scan doesn't really show up the shiny side of my card, I used superfine glitter, pearl seed beads and the text stamping in the background was brushed with perfect pearls powder.

Check out all of the great cards over at the DCM blog....but wear sunglasses to protect you from the glare....lol

What's Your Word?

Following on from my last post, and also seeing that Ali Edward's blog has been inundated by responses about her choose a word newsletter...

I had an idea!
If you leave a comment on here saying what your chosen word is going to be for 2007
At the end of the weekend I'll put all the names in a hat ( more likely to be a pot or a bowl) and I'll get my miss almost 6 to draw out a name.

The person drawn will get their chosen word die cut using my Cricut, whatever colour you want, sized between 1 and 5 1/2 inches and you chose the font.

You can choose either: George, Stamped, Base Camp, Jasmine or Opposites Attract.

Check out these fonts here.

Anyone keen to join in?
International ladies most welcome to join in as well.

If you check out Ali's blog you can see pics of her Husband Chris, he has just been sworn in to the house of representatives.
